Canon John Clayton’s 100th Birthday on 11th June 2011 was marked by a special Eucharist celebrated by the Bishop of Ripon & Leeds, the Rt Revd John Packer the following afternoon. The church was full to overflowing, the congregation including the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Cllr Revd Alan Taylor, the Archdeacon of Leeds, the Revd Peter Burrows and the MP for Leeds North-West, Greg Mulholland, together with representatives from the dioceses and parishes in which Canon Clayton had served during his 76 years of ministry.
