We meet monthly from October to March on the second Thursday evening at 6.30 for 7.00 p.m. in the St Giles’ Church Hall. A glass of wine, beer or soft drink is available from 6.30 p.m. We sit at tables to enjoy a cooked main course and dessert, finishing with a cup of tea or coffee, before settling down to listen to the speaker, organised by the Programme Secretary Bryan Bundey.
The cost is currently £9.00 to cover the meal and overheads. Average attendance is about 40. A special 40th Anniversary “Ladies’ Evening” was held at ‘Headingley Golf Club’ in September 2011. The “Ladies’ Outing” in April 2011 was to St. George’s Crypt in Leeds.
Whereas most members live in Bramhope and are associated with St Giles’, church membership is not a requirement. We have members who come regularly from Adel, Cookridge and further afield.
If you would like to attend a future Meeting, please contact our Treasurer Brian Ridsdale (Tel. 0113 267 3293) by the Sunday preceding the Thursday of a Meeting, so that a place can be reserved. You are assured of a very warm welcome.

Brief history of St Giles’ Men’s Supper Club
Roy Warner founded St Giles’ Men’s Supper Club in 1971. The first meeting was held on Thu 14th October 1971 when twenty-six men attended, each paying 20p. We celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the founding of the Club on Thu 13th October 2011 with an ‘In-house’ evening of reminiscences by our own members, at least one of whom, Bryan Bundey, attended the first meeting.
The basic idea of men having the opportunity to meet socially and enjoy fellowship, sit down to a meal and listen to a speaker, has stood the test of time. So too has the idea of having a “Ladies’ Evening” and a “Ladies’ Outing” in each year’s programme.
For many years a team of ladies, mainly members’ wives led by Nancy Bundey and Diane Thompson, prepared the supper. More recently caterers have cooked our meal – the current caterer being Karen Sheard and her team from Otley.
