Hello from St Giles Bramhope!  Just a few lines to let you know what’s happening over Christmas:-

This Sunday – 13 December – St Giles Annual Toy Service  - 9.30 am - this is an all.together  service for all ages. This is a Christmas event with carols for all the family.  Please bring a new or nearly new toy unwrapped for a child. It is an opportunity to help children in need looked after by our local social services.  

Sunday evening – 20 December – 6.30 pm  - our traditional carol service  a Festival of 9 Lessons and carols led by our choir. The carols you love to sing and listen to. The service is followed by seasonal refreshments mulled wine and mince pies.  

Monday morning – 21 December – 9.30 am – the first day of the school holidays you’re still running round trying to get Christmas ready and the kids are off school! Why not send them along to our Children’s Christmas Activity morning Christmas crafts, songs and refreshments. The session lasts until 12.00 midday. Get a registration form from church or contact the vicar Janice Smith. Please note children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.  

Wednesday afternoon – 24 December – 3 pm  & 5 pm– due to popular demand  TWO chances to attend Christingle - the shops are closing, families are gathering and no better way to begin Christmas than our Christingle   service a real family event in support of the Children’s Society. Come and sing carols listen to the timeless Christmas story. The music is provided by our own musicians a very special start to Christmas with candles and Christingles to light up our service. 

24 December 11.30 pm Midnight Communion – The first Communion of Christmas - Silent Night, Holy Night all is calm, all is bright. This is a time to greet the infant Jesus; a time to reflect on the meaning of Christmas an oasis of calm in the rush of the Christmas season.  

Christmas Day – 8.15 & 9.30 am  - the quiet 8.15 service for those who have to get off to visit families and friends. The 9.30 am service a joyous celebration of Holy Communion for all the Family and all ages.
