Welcome
We are a dynamic and friendly church made up of people from all ages and
backgrounds. What brings us together is our faith in God and his Son, Jesus
Christ, and the experience that life really makes sense as we live according
to his purposes for us.
|
Our Vision is ‘to be a church that
welcomes, worships and shares God with
ALL our community and beyond!’ |
Our different services meet the needs of both those who enjoy traditional
Anglican worship and those who are looking for something more
contemporary and less formal. As well as services there is a whole range of
other activities. We aim to provide something for everyone.
People come to church for all sorts of reasons, but whatever your
circumstances, we would like to welcome you to join us in any way you feel
appropriate. And if there is any way that we can be of help, then please let
us know.
Worship
|
Sunday Worship
8.15am, 9.30am and 6.30pm |
The 8:15am
is a quiet traditional Holy Communion service with a short sermon but no
music. The rich liturgy of Anglican Common Worship or the Book of Common
Prayer is used (for details please check with the Parish Magazine or
notices).
The 9.30am
is a Parish Communion with hymns accompanied by the organ and choir.
Separate activities take place for the children but we all come together for
Communion or to receive a blessing. There are refreshments and a chance to
chat after the service.
Every 2nd Sunday
of the month at 9.30am the family service, 'all.together', is informal and has a
contemporary style. We have modern songs led by our music group in this
lively 45-minute time of worship and learning. We follow it with
refreshments - an opportunity to get to know each other better.
6.30 pm Choral Evensong.
We are extremely fortunate to have a choir who sing choral evensong from the
Book of Common Prayer. Come and join us at this beautiful worship service.
We are one of the few churches left in this area who provide this choral
service.
6.30 pm on the 2nd Sunday, Parish Communion.
On Thursdays
at 10.30am there is Holy Communion in the side Chapel. Transport can be
arranged. Please contact Donald Coates on 0113 267 3608 for more information
on our lift system.
